Hello. My name is Pastor Linda Winkelman. I am the pastor of Messiah Lutheran, Galva, IL. Messiah Lutheran Church welcomes all who enter. We are a community of people who gather together weekly on Saturday night at 5:30 pm and Sunday morning at 10:15 am (9:15 am in the summer). We seek to provide a faith-filled, meaningful worship around the Word and Sacraments that nurtures us in living out our vision to “Hear the Word; Grow in Christ; Serve the world.” This means we want to grow in our understanding of the Bible and Christian teaching and be strengthened in our faith in Christ Jesus in order to live out our faith in the world. Thus, we seek ways to make worship and our faith relevant to our everyday lives. We want all who worship at Messiah to feel like part of the community and be nourished as a baptized child of God. Messiah also offers learning opportunities for people of all ages from September to May on Sunday mornings at 9 am. Feel free to join us. Background: Pastor Linda was born and raised in Woodstock, IL. She was baptized, confirmed, and married at Grace Lutheran, Woodstock. She received her bachelor’s degree from Columbia College, MS and her Master of Divinity degree from Wartburg Theological Seminary in Dubuque, IA. She was ordained at the Northern Illinois Synod Assembly on June 15th, 2007, and began serving Messiah Lutheran in July, 2007. Linda and Steve have been married 28 years and have three children, Andrew, Brian, and Laura.
